Telecommuting PR Internship
RESOURCEFUL, METICULOUS, AND MULTI-TASKING INTERN needed immediately to assist owner and senior publicist at a fast-paced high-energy, bi-coastal public relations firm based in New York City and Los Angeles. Position will require about 10-15 hours/week and the intern will work remotely, using Skype, email, and phone to communicate with owner and senior publicist. There is a lot of opportunity to learn about the international world of PR with executives who are on the cutting edge of international public relations (we deal with a number of clients from all over the world, for example: New Zealand, New York, Vietnam, Los Angeles, and Spain).
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
-Researching contacts and maintaining Excel press lists
-Researching news articles, blog posts, television announcements, etc. relevant to
firm’s client roster
-Maintaining social networks (primarily Facebook and Twitter) of certain clients
-Helping plan fundraisers and other events
-Researching relevant events, shows, and speaking opportunities for clients
-Staying on top of the news
[If intern proves him or herself, there is opportunity to write press releases and
pitch national/international press]
The applicant must have a strong sense of urgency and be efficient, meticulous,
and get assignments in on time (any projects not turned in on time will result in
termination of the internship). Person must be able to think outside of the box and
be resourceful and creative.
-GPA of 3.6 or higher
-Major in Communications, Marketing, PR, or something similar
-Junior or Senior
-Social media savvy
-Must know Microsoft Office
-Must be aware of current events and news
-Outstanding writing skills (no grammar/spelling mistakes!)
