The James F. Fox Chapter of PRSSA currently has eight executive members representing the chapter. All PRSSA members are encouraged to run for executive positions that they are interested in to gain leadership experience and become more involved in PRSSA. Check out our 2017-2018 officers:
Madison Petersen – President
Madison is a junior majoring in Journalism and Communication Studies. She has been involved with PRRSA and Inspire for two years and has working closely with the IowaWatch public relations team throughout that time. She hopes to pursue a career in sports communications upon gradating. She is also involved in Greek Life, is a metro reporter for The Daily Iowan, and works as a communications intern for the University of Iowa Athletics Department.
Julian is a junior at the University of Iowa majoring in Journalism and Sociology. This past summer, Julian spent most of his time learning the ins and outs of public relations as a PR intern at Preferred Public Relations in Las Vegas, Nevada–also his hometown. He has been an active member since the fall of the previous year in both PRSSA and Inspire, where he works with Iowa Watch. Along with these two organizations, he can either be found working in the Language Media Center or the Office of the Vice President for Student Life. Politics, pop culture, and technology are some of his main interests and he is very vocal about anything that falls into these categories. Julian hopes to practice PR in either San Francisco, Washington D.C., or Los Angeles upon graduation.
Molly Georgia- Vice President of Internal Relations
Molly is a junior pursuing a degree in journalism, with a certificate in entrepreneurial management. This year marks her first year with the PRSSA exec board, although she has been an active member of PRSSA and Inspire for over a year. As the secretary, Molly records meeting minutes and briefs the group on event and meeting details for each week, coordinates the scheduling of meeting rooms, and assists the president and vice president as needed. Outside of PRSSA, Molly is also a web writer and social manager for the Division of Student Life. Upon graduation, she hopes to take her skills in written communication and media to a position within the PR industry.
